ROUTINE EXAMINATION

Regular dental check-up is the surest way to maintain the child cavity free and smiling beautifully.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a dental check-up at least twice a year for most children. Some children need more frequent dental visits because of increased risk of tooth decay, poor oral hygiene or unusual growth patterns. Contact us to know the best appointment schedule for your child.

Dental Hygiene

After evaluating your child’s dental health, we will design a personalized program of home care for your child. This program will include teaching the child age-appropriate brushing technique, flossing and tongue cleaning instructions and also include a tailored “Cavity-Prevention” programe. Also based on your child’s cavity risk, we will schedule them for a professional cleaning and polishing appointment along with fluoride treatment to make their teeth strong and healthy.

Dental Sealants

Even if your child brushes and flosses carefully, it is difficult – sometimes impossible – to clean the tiny grooves and pits on certain teeth. Food and bacteria build up in these crevices, placing your child in danger of tooth decay. Sealants are clear or white colored material which is applied on to the tooth surface and “seals-out” food and plaque, thus reducing the dental decay. Schedule an appointment and take the first step in preventing dental decay for your child!

CROWNS

Space Maintainer

If a baby tooth is lost too soon or removed due to decay, the teeth beside it may tilt or drift into the empty space. Teeth in the opposing jaw may move up/down to fill the gap. When adjacent teeth shift into the empty space, they create a lack of space in the jaw for the permanent teeth. If left untreated, it may lead to crowding and extensive orthodontic therapy. Space maintainers are appliances made of either metal or plastic and are custom fit to your child’s mouth. They are small and unobtrusive. Most children easily adjust to them after the first few days. Schedule an appointment with us to see if your child needs a space management program.

Preventive Orthodontics

The goal of this treatment is to prevent bad bite, crowding and other malocclusions form developing in the first place. So if we are seeing your child regularly, it is possible for us to identify potential alignment problems and give simple appliances to nip it in its bud. This greatly helps in significantly reducing the time for the braces therapy and may even sometimes eliminates it completely. Schedule an appointment with us to evaluate the potential bite problems in your child.

Conscious Sedation

Conscious sedation involves inhaling laughing gas to ease our little patients and make them comfortable for the entire duration of the dental treatment. It is very helpful in children who have a level of anxiety that prevents good coping skills & those who are very young. It is of great benefit for patients who have special needs. And don’t worry, this type of conscious sedation has a proven track record of 100% safety since over 50 years of research. Your child remains awake and can carry conversation during the entire period. Coming soon in our practice.

Diet Counselling

Children must have a balanced diet for their teeth to develop properly. They also need a balanced diet for healthy gum tissue around the teeth & to minimize risk for tooth decay. At Little Molar, we identify the cavity causing food in your child’s diet and help modify the timing, frequency and amount of such foods so that the risk of cavities decreases without depriving the children of their childhood. We also have a expert nutritionist join us once in six months to conduct workshop for healthy eating for parents and children alike.
